I've been building software for 15 years. I've worked as technical director, managed teams, led development, and shipped over 20 products. I love what I do.
As Technical Director for a team of 12+ developers and designers, internal and outsourced, I was responsible for all high level technical decisions, dev ops, custom tooling, as well as mentoring the junior and mid-level developers. Together we built a large suite of interconnected software, including user-facing applications and internal tooling, to facilitate live sports broadcasts, fan engagement, and advertiser management.
During my tenure at VirtuFab, I led development of VR pre-visualization software. I designed and implemented key features, including the technical mechanisms for securely and seamlessly transferring proprietary files during multi-user review sessions, and tools for capturing and annotating feedback.
As a long time Plex fan it was a thrill to contribute to the product. I worked on the VR client, heavily focusing on performance improvements, improving the experience, and bringing it to new platforms.
I was honored when Numinous Games contracted me to bring their title "That Dragon, Cancer" from desktop to mobile devices. I solved many UI/UX challenges to accomodate touch devices, improved existing mechanics, and improved the general code quality.
In 2017 I again joined the team to start a new project called "Busuu - Learn Spanish" in collaboration with Busuu and Oculus/Meta. We built a Virtual Reality Spanish-learning experience that uses speech recognition and branching narrative to guide our players through learning introductory Spanish in a novel, unique, and immersive setting.
I was brought on near the beginning of the "NBA Escape" project to lead development, which involved architectural planning, code review, managing team members, consulting on hiring decisions, and more. I also acted as the touch point for outsourced work, communicated requirements, and debugged the results. A rewarding challenge I solved was building a custom environment for level designers to test their levels live on their own devices without distributing new builds.
